Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. Active (or eligible) for appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services or Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Community Peace Officer Induction Training Program (6 weeks program). Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) Driver's Licence. Valid Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (P.A.R.E.) completed under 4:45 minute, within 6 months prior to commencing employment.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum two years of related work experience OR a related degree or diploma in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or Psychology. Other related education may be considered. Ability to work a 24-hour shift rotation. Current First Aid and CPR Level C – AED certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in uniformed public servant roles or emergency services (military, forestry, park ranger, corrections, peace officer). Cadet program experience. Community involvement or volunteering. Knowledge of or training in harm reduction, anti-racism and Indigenous awareness. Fluent in languages other than English. An active appointment as a Community Peace Officer with enforcement duties involving the public, as identified by the Province of Alberta/Solicitor General.
