Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Active or eligible for appointment as a Community Peace Officer II by the Alberta Solicitor General.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Two years related security/law enforcement experience is preferred and familiarity with Canadian law. Know the proper application of violence intervention strategies. Also understanding the application of security technologies in assessing situations. Strong interpersonal, communication, investigative and organizational skills required. Good documentation and reporting skill are required. The ability to function independently and in a team environment as well, you must also know when to refer issues upwards. Demonstrate the ability to self-develop and continue learning. Must be physically fit to respond to fire and/or security related emergencies within AHS. Physical exertion required with lifting, pushing, pulling, restraining, and standing for long periods of time. You need to have the ability to provide a positive and friendly approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations. You must have the ability to safeguard Alberta Health Services information as private and confidential as well as adhere to all Alberta Health Services policies, procedures, goals and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years post-secondary education is Security, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice preferred. Current P.A.R.E. is definitely preferred. Also, a valid Community Peace Officer Level 2 appointment would be a preference. Valid First Aid Certificate, BCLS, Pressure Point Control Certificate are an asset as well.
