Your Opportunity:

The Senior Project Manager is a leadership role within the Design & Construction Project Management department and reports directly to the Director, Design & Construction Project Management. This position assists their direct reports with the planning, delivery and evaluation of project management services in their zone in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health This position assists the Project Manager in overseeing the engagement and performance of construction related consultants and contractors. The quantity of contracted workers can range from 1,000 to 3,500 workers spread over 50 to 125 projects at any given time of which the Senior Project Manager will step in and work with the workers when issues arise.

Description:

The Senior Project Manager is a leadership role within the Design & Construction Project Management department and reports directly to the Director, Design & Construction Project Management. This position assists their direct reports with the planning, delivery and evaluation of project management services in their zone in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The Senior Project Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders in order to provide operational leadership to and oversee all related programs and services. This position also establishes and maintains positive relationships with key local, provincial and health care stakeholders including regulatory bodies. The Senior Project Manager provides direct support and expert counsel to the Director, Design & Construction Project Management on all aspects of project management with their assigned area of the zone. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the development of annual objectives for their direct reports as well as provides coaching, mentoring, and development to direct reports. The Senior Project Manager supports all of the capital infrastructure upgrades, ensuring a consistent and integrated approach across the zone as well as across the province through key relationships with the other Senior Project Manager and the Project Management Centre of Expertise (COE). As part of this the Senior Project Manager will support, manage and monitor their direct reports to ensure the overall department goals and objectives are achieved within scope, budget and schedule. They will provide clear direction and supervision to Project Managers, Project Management Coordinators, Project Support Administrators and other staff as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Project Management (Building Construction) or a Technology Diploma in Architecture, Building or Engineering equivalent.
