Reporting directly to the Manager of Workplace Health & Safety. This position is responsible for Qualitative respiratory protection fit testing for Alberta Health Services staff at various locations. The incumbent also will perform data entry for completed respiratory fit tests and may be required to assist with other assorted duties. Training will be provided in Respiratory Protection Fit Testing Protocol and any other initiatives the successful candidate would be involved in. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through your employment references. New employees must complete a Communicable Disease Assessment and provide a criminal records and venerable sector check (provided by their local Police or RCMP detachment at their own expense) in compliance with the Protection for Persons in Care Act. Description:
We are looking for a summer respiratory protection fit test support student who will work within the Workplace Health & Safety department and report directly to the Manager, WHS Business Partnerships. The position works with the WHS Safety team to conduct respiratory protection fit testing across all Acute and Community Care sites in the Calgary Zone and will complete the data entry of fit test results into a database. Strong ability to work in a team, professional and positive approach to tasks, and ability to work independently are key success traits for this role. The position is also responsible for: Conduct qualitative respiratory protection fit testing at acute and community care facilities, assist coordination and organizing fit test sessions, timely and accurate data entry of completed fit test records into a database.

A minimum of Grade 12. Currently enrolled in post-secondary program (Occupational, Health & Safety, Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, would be an asset). Excellent communication and organizational skills are desirable. The successful candidate must have a positive attitude and demonstrate a professional image.
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong interpersonal skills. Fast and accurate data entry skills required. Ability to perform effectively in a team environment. Strong knowledge of computer systems and applications, specifically Microsoft Office, database management. Ability to work quickly and independently. Analytical skills. Adaptability. Excellent customer service. Comfortable facilitating training discussions with small groups.
Preferred Qualifications:A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are preferred for this position as work will be performed in many AHS locations in the Calgary Zone.
