Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services Ethics & Compliance Office (ECO) has an exciting opportunity for two summer Post Secondary Students to work with our team. The ECO promotes ethical conduct within AHS, and supports our workforce with guiding documents to assist in understanding their role and the roles of others. AHS relies on its 110,000+ representatives to uphold standards of conduct that preserve and enhance public confidence in its clinical and business activities, fulfill responsibilities in a manner that avoids involvement in conflict of interest (COI) situations, and to disclose and address any conflicts should they arise. The ECO receives thousands of COI declarations yearly from the AHS workforce.

The main priority for these positions will be assisting with the COI declaration review process by logging receipt, cataloging submitted COI declarations, and conducting an initial review of COI declarations to determine if they require follow-up with AHS representatives. As well, you will be involved with ongoing project work and a variety of general/routine duties such as data entry that will support the operations of the ECO and will have the opportunity to shadow professionals within the department.
