Your Opportunity:

The Team Leader of Interprofessional Student Services within Pediatrics provides clinical leadership and coordination, and ensures day to day operations within the pediatric interdisciplinary team within SROP. The Physiotherapist II ensures that clinical practice is evidence based and meets high clinical practice standards. Supervision of the clinical practice of students and assistants is required. Team clinical coordination, case management, and providing mentoring for the team are part of the duties. Provision of direct client care including assessment and treatment, and indirect care to support pediatric clients with complex pediatric conditions. The program area may be subject to change based on operational requirements.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As a Physiotherapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with Physiotherapy Alberta College + Association.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Membership with CPA is recommended. Minimum of three years experience working in the rehabilitation of pediatric clients within a multidisciplinary team/program is required. Effective teaching skills, proficient computer skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience in leading or coordinating services or teams is recommended. Team Leader is assigned to Interprofessional Student Services, Pediatrics, and SROP. The successful incumbent will be capable of performing lifts, transfers, repositioning, and other physically demanding activities associated with this role. Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) Level Certification required.
