Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to order entry, checking, sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding and all aspects of drug distribution such as ward stock, narcotics, Investigational and Special Access Drugs. 2 years + experience and recent certification in sterile compounding and non-sterile compounding. 1 year + experience in the last 5 years in all aspects of Chemotherapy; including but not limited to receiving, order entry, embedded worksheet setup, recent certification for preparation, checking and medication distribution. Willingness to work with chemotherapy and/or hazardous drugs required. It is a requirement to be able to work at our satellite NICU at Foothills Medical Center. It is a requirement to be able to work all shifts including on-call duty (2245-0700). Preferred Qualifications: 2 years + experience in the last 5 years in pediatrics preferred. Experience with medication reconciliation in a clinical setting within the last 2 years preferred. 1 year + Epic computer program experience within the last 5 years preferred. 1 year + BDM computer program experience within the last 5 years preferred. Experience with Inventory control system, and IV admixture and unit dose drug distribution is preferred. 6 months + experience in retail pharmacy setting preferred. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization preferred.

Displays professionalism, tact, courtesy, discretion and respects confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Demonstrated computer (windows based computer applications) and typing skills Committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.
