Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to order entry, checking, sterile compounding, non-sterile compounding and all aspects of drug distribution such as ward stock, and narcotics. 2 years + experience and recent certification in sterile compounding and non-sterile compounding 1 year + experience in the last 5 years in all aspects of Chemotherapy; including but not limited to receiving, order entry, embedded worksheet setup, recent certification for preparation, checking and medication distribution. Willingness to work with chemotherapy and/or hazardous drugs required. It is a requirement to be able to work at our satellite NICU at Foothills Medical Center. It is a requirement to be able to work all shifts including on-call duty (2245-0700).

Preferred Qualifications:

Active membership with a pharmacy professional organization such as PTSA and/or CAPhO. Recent pediatric/oncology experience. 2 years + pediatrics experience in last 5 yrs. Investigational and Special Access Drugs knowledge. Experience with medication reconciliation in a clinical setting within last 2 yrs. 1 year + BDM computer program experience within last 5 yrs. Experience with Inventory control system, IV admixture, unit dose drug distribution. 6 mths+ experience in retail pharmacy setting.
