Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications:Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to order entry, checking, sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation and all aspects of drug distribution. 1 year minimum experience in the last 5 years in all aspects of Chemotherapy; including but not limited to receiving, order entry, setup and preparation. Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Demonstrated computer or word processing skills. Demonstrated commitment to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in medication reconciliation and Best Possible Medication History in a clinical setting within the last 2 years preferred. Experience in the last 5 years in pediatric or neonatal patient population preferred. Experience dispensing Investigational Drug Studies and Special Access Drug Program preferred. 1 year min BDM computer program experience preferred. Membership in a relevant pharmacy professional organization preferred. 6 months min experience in retail pharmacy setting preferred.
