Required Qualifications:

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years+ Regulated Pharmacy Technician with Alberta College of Pharmacists. Prior hospital pharmacy experience including but not limited to: patient order entry and verification, repackaging with use of automated packaging equipment, certified for final product checking with the use of an automated packager, sterile compounding, drug distribution such as ward stock, inventory medication management and procurement. Demonstrate proficiency in the following: communication (verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, organizational and problem solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams as required, computer skills, continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with multiple forms of either manual or online ordering of medications from multiple manufacturers/vendors using Meditech. Alberta Health Services Checking Certified in the last 2 years. 2 years+ experience with automated repackaging machines such as FastPak EXP & Verifier within the last 2 years. Experience with medication ordering via online access for pharmaceutical procurement. 6 months+ experience in retail pharmacy setting. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization.
