Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent hospital pharmacy related experience & a working knowledge of Pharmacy terms & medication names. Graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program &/or recent hospital/retail pharmacy experience. Knowledge of EPIC (Pharmacy Module) computer software. Experience with Windows-based computer applications. Basic knowledge of purchasing, receiving, & inventory control of pharmaceuticals to minimize outdated medications. Must be fluent in the English language (written & verbal). Must be able to type (40 words per minute desired). Excellent communication, interpersonal & time management skills. Must be able to follow oral & written instructions. Good organizational, problem solving & decision-making ability. Must display tact, courtesy, discretion & respect confidentiality. Must be accurate, reliable, precise, co-operative, able to demonstrate effective service attitude, & self-motivated. Must be able to work both independently & co-operatively in a team environment. Must be able to adapt to new technologies & changing workflow patterns. Familiarity with the operation of various office equipment, unit dose packaging equipment & pharmaceutical compounding equipment. Must be in good physical condition as majority of shift involves: heavy lifting, standing, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking & standing for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year experience in hospital pharmacy supporting rural sites. 1 + year in Narcotics. 1+ year experience inventory management. 6 months + experience in compounding (manufacturing), including reconstitution of products and unit dose repackaging. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable & is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
