Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Authorized to Administer Drugs by Injection (Alberta College of Pharmacy). Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) granted by Alberta College of Pharmacy. Experience with provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Recent direct patient care experience (at least 1 year within the last 3 years). Experience with a multidisciplinary patient care team. Demonstrates ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Demonstrates self-directed learning and continuing education. Demonstrates computer literacy for drug information and word processing. Capable of making decisions and working independently. Demonstrates good time management including ability to switch priorities and multitask. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good organizational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated; able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Fluency in the English language (both written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized pharmacy residency program or equivalent hospital experience. 2-5 years recent experience in hospital pharmacy. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) is recommended. Experience with computer medication order entry, IV admixture and unit dose drug distribution an asset. Experience with Windows-based computer applications an asset.
