Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution required. Licensed or eligibility for licensure with Alberta College of Pharmacists. Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada required. Additional Prescribing Authorization granted by the Alberta College of Pharmacists required. Certification to administer drugs by Injection granted by the Alberta College of Pharmacists required in some areas and an asset. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is recommended. Recent direct patient care experience preferred, Experience with the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care within the hospital setting preferred. Demonstrates ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Demonstrates computer literacy for drug information and word processing. Experience with computer medication order entry, IV admixture and unit dose drug distribution an asset. Capable of making decisions, working independently or with a team and good time management. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organization and problem-solving skills. Fluency in the English language (written and verbal). Accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Degree considered an asset. Experience with the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting. Hospital pharmacy residency and prior hospital experience. Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency certificate considered an asset. Recent experience as a member of a multidisciplinary patient health care team. 2 to 4 years clinical experience within a specialized program area.
