Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Recognized Peer Support Certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Lived experience of poverty and experience in recovery from a substance use disorder. Must be willing to share personal experience. Knowledge of systemic issues such as poverty, unemployment, stigma, barriers to care, and the isolation faced by individuals with substance use disorders and their families. For individuals with a past history of a substance use disorder, a minimum of two years without any substance use is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Peer Support will be considered an asset. Involvement with local/emerging communities of practice and recovery programs and national peer support organizations is encouraged.
