Completion of grade 12 or equivalent. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Minimum 2 years’ experience working with diverse and marginalized populations, particularly the homeless. Previous experience in a health care setting or in a human services field outside of health care setting. Experience/knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team in a collaborative manner. Ability to be organized and self-directed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized peer support training program. Knowledge and experience of the principles and practice of harm reduction. Knowledge of an Indigenous language. Knowledge of health care and community services. Knowledge of systemic issues such as poverty and stigma. Ongoing participation in the Peer Support Community of Practice offered by CMHA. Post-secondary courses related to social work, health care and psychology/sociology would be an asset.
