Four year undergraduate degree in biological science, medicine, anatomy or related discipline. Master of Science degree from a Pathologist’s Assistant Program. Current membership with the Canadian Association of Pathologist’s Assistants (CAPA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical and technical terminology. Advanced knowledge of gross dissection techniques and guidelines. Advanced of cancer staging and grading requirements and guidelines. Knowledge of Tissue fixation and preservation techniques. Ability to deal effectively with complicated technical procedures. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Ability to function effectively in a team environment and promote positive working relationships. Capable of working under high pressure situations with frequent interruptions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Skills in leadership, prioritization, critical thinking, multitasking, problem solving.
