Completion of an orthoptic course from an accredited institution. Active membership with the Canadian Orthoptic Council (COC).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three years' experience as an Orthoptist within the past five years. Current BCLS-HCP certification. Familiar with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. This position includes standing for prolonged periods in a sustained position as part of the physical demands of ophthalmic testing.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience as an Orthoptist in a Hospital Eye Clinic or an Ophthalmologist's office. Current member of the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO). Additional training and certification as an Ophthalmic Medical technologist. Clinibase, Millennium, CIS experience.
