Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Educate others to philosophy and objectives of Occupational Therapy. Previous experience working with populations with cognitive and mental health disorders. Creative, motivated, enthusiastic, effective role model. Ability to use principles of time management and effective problem solving. Assessment skills to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in client status, and develop appropriate treatment plan. Effectively uses information and communication technology to improve inter-professional person centered care. Complex reasoning skills reflective of level of education to make decision in strenuous and changing environments by compiling information from multiple sources. Displays an attitude that conveys respect and dignity of all persons. Independent and shared accountability in a just culture. Compassionate and caring attitude. Balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities. Establish caring and respectful relationships with clients, families and coworkers. Work within a team environment and effectively contribute to client planning processes. Motivated to perform workload with a minimum of supervision. Evidence of leadership ability and motivational example. Previous experience working with Therapy Assistants.

Preferred Qualifications:

Alberta Aides to Daily Living (AADL) Authorizer status preferred. Clinical experience in a variety of health care settings, but specific experience in the management of Dementia Syndrome will be preferred.
