Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Experience in acute care in the areas of ADL, cognitive, edema, and functional assessment and interventions as well as falls and pressure injury prevention is required. Possess effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Must be able to effectively prioritize a large caseload in a fast ever changing environment. Ability to provide quality work that meets departmental and organizational expectations. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. Must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Must be able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Able to utilize strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. Able to work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. Must be a reliable worker who uses time effectively and is able to prioritize and complete tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in splinting, positioning, cognitive assessment, Philadelphia collars, skin graft management, wound care and discharge planning are assets.
