Required Qualifications:

An active practice permit as a Nurse Practitioner, Family All Ages with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta required. Master’s degree in Nursing required. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required. NP and RN experience in chronic disease management, mental health, and/ or primary health care. Demonstrated ability to provide quality, comprehensive and integrated primary health services in a team based environment within the scope of practice for nurse practitioners as approved by CARNA. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment is required, as this role involves working with patients who may present with urgent medical or psychiatric concerns. The role may also involve working with clients who present with criminal or suicidal tendencies.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Applies principles of primary health care in providing health services. Practices autonomously and collaboratively. Promotes and supports health enhancing behaviors. Strong organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and team work skills. Demonstrated ability to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working with chronic pain, and addiction an asset. Familiarity with approaches supporting behavior change in clients, such as HealthChange® Methodology, is preferred.
