Required Qualifications:

The nurse practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse who has successfully completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program, and holds a Master of Nursing with a focus on advance clinical nursing practice. Current registration with CARNA as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Family/All Ages Stream.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an NP in a relevant outpatient clinical setting and/or front-line clinical work, with preference for those working across the life span in a primary care setting such as Family Medicine, Urgent Care or Out Post setting. BCLS-HCP and ACLS - mandatory. Must possess a sound understanding of the determinants of health. Computer literacy skills mandatory with preference for EMR experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

BTLS optional. Completion of one or more of: Emergency Nursing Course, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Trauma Nurse Core Course or other advance clinical nursing skills preferred. Additional training in CTAS scoring, EKG, lab and other diagnostic results would be an asset. Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment and therapeutic interventions, health promotion, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care in the community considered and asset.
