Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, BSc Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing, with advanced practice in the assessment and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, conditions and addictions. The combination of education and clinical experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered. Current active registration in good standing with the applicable college required. Authorization from the applicable professional college in order to perform psychosocial interventions required. Nonviolent crisis intervention. Solid Interpersonal communication skills, interviewing techniques and writing skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting required. In depth knowledge of mental health/mental illness required. 3-5 Years prior experience in an acute mental health setting expected. 3-5 years prior experience in a community mental health setting expected. Experience providing individual and group therapy and psychosocial interventions essential. Class 5 drivers license and insurance for business use required.

Preferred Qualifications:

ATSA certification. Current working knowledge of sexual offender risk assessment tools. Experience in a forensic mental health setting. Experience providing sexual offender treatment in an inpatient or community mental health setting. Experience working with individuals with a forensic history or within a correctional institution.
