Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years’ experience within the last five (5) years of direct clinical experience with the focus on children, youth, and families. Experience providing virtual care (i.e., Telehealth, Skype, Zoom, etc.) and the ability to function well in a virtual team environment. Training in crisis intervention, assessment, and case management skills. Training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) or other appropriate treatment modalities. Courses/training/certification relevant to children, youth, and families. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Equivalent education and experience is defined as: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with Psychosocial Intervention Authorization OR Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy with experience in mental health assessment and intervention OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with experience in mental health assessment and intervention OR Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric Nursing AND six (6) years’ experience within the last 10 years of direct clinical experience with the focus on children, youth, and families.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working on a virtual and/or geographically dispersed team. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) or Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment & Management (SPRAM). This position is virtual and the successful applicant can be located anywhere within the North Zone.
