Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master's degree in Psychology; master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered: Master of Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Provisional status with current registration with CAP will be considered. Qualified to perform psychosocial interventions. 3-5 years of direct mental health clinical experience with the focus on children, youth and their families. Demonstrated direct clinical experience working with children, youth and families with child maltreatment related issues is required. Certification and experience in at least one therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to effective de-escalation techniques, parent teaching (Circle of Security), TF-CBT, EMDR, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, play therapy. Experience in a multidisciplinary team setting. Experience and knowledge with crisis intervention models; experience with the child protection and justice systems is preferred. Ability to provide testimony for court proceedings. A strong working knowledge of partnership programs such as Children’s Services, Disability services, and school districts. Familiar with relevant legislation and Acts. Experience working with multicultural groups, including refugee, newcomers to the country and First Nations. Experience co-facilitating support and psycho-educational groups. Current BCLS-HCP certification, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention required.

Preferred Qualifications:

eClinician/Connect Care experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work autonomously and meet necessary deadlines. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, excellent organizational and time management skills as well as excellent oral and writing skills.
