Completion of one of the following programs: Master's degree in Psychology. Master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and who have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization. Master's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Master's degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will have graduated from a recognized program in one of the following: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s Degree in Psychology; Master’s Degree in Social Work; Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from a nursing or psychiatric nursing program. Registration with the applicable licensing body (CARNA, CRPNA, ACOT, CAP, ACSW*) are required. Current CPR certificate at the BLS Level C is desirable. Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license (non GDL) and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel are required. Must have a minimum of 2 years recent clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Must have excellent assessment skills. Must have formal clinical training and knowledge in child and adolescent mental health. Formal training in child and adolescent mental health therapeutic interventions such as CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy would be extremely beneficial. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the assessment and treatment of children/adolescents with mental health concerns/diagnoses is required. The successful candidate must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with a range of community stakeholders and service providers. Must be authorized by ACSW to perform restricted activities - Psychosocial Interventions.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with Child and Family Services, Health Partnership Initiatives, Multicultural groups would be an asset.
