Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, plus appropriate designations and/or certifications/training in population and/or public health related to the health system or related area. A minimum of 5 years direct experience working with First Nation, Metis and/or Inuit people & communities. A minimum of 5 years in a management and/or related role in an organization of significant size, complexity & diversity. The incumbent will demonstrate a clear pattern of professional & personal development.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Progressive leadership experience in a clinical &/or research/evidence-based population & public health environment, including 5 years' experience in a management role in service-oriented operations. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership, project & program management. Knowledge/demonstrated application of business planning, modeling concepts & program/project management theories, principles & practices. Demonstrated use of strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals, assessing options & implications. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation & commitment to providing quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability & comfort with decision making, coaching/teaching & the ability to inspire/build confidence in others. Ability to manage change & create innovative solutions for complex/diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial & physical resources in a changing & multifaceted environment with diverse, complex & sensitive issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships & to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization & managing within a unionized sector. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst & build solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees & other partners. Ability to lead complex, evolving improvement strategy & capacity-building initiatives targeted to optimizing clinical practice/business processes


Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree, plus significant experience working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit people and communities and appropriate designations and/or certifications/training in population and/or public health related to the health system. Equivalencies of education & experience will be considered.
