Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years in a management role ideally in a community-based health service organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Three to five years of acute care, emergency and/or urgent care registered nursing experience. In addition, two years of primary care registered nursing experience. Equivalencies of experience may be considered. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Experience in broad knowledge of primary care, chronic disease prevention and management and key principles of primary care reform.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Progressive leadership experience in a health service environment, including 5 years experience in a management role in healthcare operations. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short and long term plans and projects and deliver customer focused results. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including primary care networks, public agencies, government, committees and other partners. In-depth knowledge of complex, integrated health systems and the inter-relationships across the continuum of care; solid knowledge of Alberta Health Services structure and functions. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Masters degree in health related field. Demonstrated knowledge in behavioural change strategies and approaches. Broad range of skills in system improvement, change leadership and management and knowledge translation.
