Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Possession of a valid driver's licence. Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.
Additional Required Qualifications:Elementary technical/professional experience (3-5 years) required. Must be familiar with a variety of architectural and mechanical tools and equipment used in the maintenance program. Must be able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing. Must be able to exert good judgement and show initiative in resolving issues and working with minimum supervision. Must be familiar with safety rules, regulations and procedures within a healthcare facility and be comfortable reporting any safety concerns to their supervisor. Must comfortable working at heights and lifting at least 15kg.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred Grade 12 High School Diploma supplemented by a technical training program (i.e. Carpentry, mechanical, equipment operator, electrical or 5th class power engineering certificate). 1-2 years previous architectural/mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
