Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency including but not limited to the Internet, Microsoft Office and Meditech. Ability to observe and assess clients’ conditions using knowledge of the disease process. Ability to efficiently organize and prioritize workload. Ability to assist clients, move equipment, walk, bend and stand frequently during a period of work. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Good listening skills and the ability to accurately and effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Keen observation skills. Knowledge of and ability to operate various equipment utilized in providing care.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years’ experience working in a day surgery or outpatient department.
