Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Physical Assessment, IV Therapy and Medication Administration course required. Minimum 2 years recent (within 2 years) Adult Acute Care experience required. Successful candidate must be able to lift 40lbs (18kg). Basic computer skills are required. The NARP program requires candidates to complete/pass Hemodialysis Training. Hemodialysis Training is held in Edmonton or Red Deer depending on availability. Hemodialysis orientation will take 6 weeks: 4 weeks on unit training and 2 weeks of buddy shifts (or equivalent hours). A passing mark of 80% on the final exam and satisfactory performance during clinical component is required to move on to buddy shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with current (within 12 months) hemodialysis experience.
