Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

This position requires successful completion of an approved immunization course within the first three months of employment. Minimum 2 years’ recent LPN experience. Must possess strong assessment, communication, organizational, problem solving and counseling skills. Must be able to work as a part of an interdisciplinary team. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a complex dynamic environment. Effective communication skills required, oral and written. Demonstrated decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast paced, independent and changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Public Health nursing experience including immunization and Healthy Beginnings an asset. Other maternal/newborn certifications such as breastfeeding courses, and lactation consultant. Other recent nursing experience including: pre-natal, maternal/postpartum and newborn assessment, or working with young families or pediatric population is as asset.
