Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta and BCLS-HCP are required. Successful completion of an approved Practical Nursing education program with training provided to work to full scope. The ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient/client planning processes. Excellent communication skills, a compassionate and caring attitude, and attention to detail are necessary. A minimum 3+ years Pediatric Cardiology/GI experience required. Additional requirements: Successfully pass the Stollery Pre-hire Interview Medication Administration Exam. Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90% or greater completed during orientation. Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) course – completed during orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:Computer experience is preferred.
