Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Skills and knowledge to work to full scope of practice. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills within Scope of Practice. Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills. Demonstrated effective patient teaching experience (both written and verbal). Demonstrated high functioning time-management and organizational skills required to function in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to successfully establish relationships with both patients and their families and engage them in their care. Preferred Qualifications:1 year recent Acute Care experience within the last 2 years preferred. Experience in Orthopaedic Surgery or Inpatient General Surgery preferred.
