Your Opportunity:

Coronation is located in a rural setting where Licensed Practical Nurse works within a multidisciplinary team to provide family focused nursing care in blended home care, acute and continuing care environments. The Licensed Practical Nurse applies knowledge based nursing practice in collaboration with other health care professionals to promote an optimal state of health for a diverse Acute Care clientele. Excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability is required and must be demonstrated through your employment records and reference requirements.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently. Strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post graduate certification in Infusion Therapy and Medication Administration preferred. Wound Care and Physical Assessment skills preferred. Applicant must be knowledgeable in meeting the needs of surgical, medical and continuing care populations preferred. Past leadership training/experience is an asset.
