Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently. Strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post graduate certification in Infusion Therapy and Medication Administration preferred. Wound Care and Physical Assessment skills preferred. Applicant must be knowledgeable in meeting the needs of surgical, medical and continuing care populations preferred. Past leadership training/experience is an asset.
