Required Qualifications:

Qualified to practice law in Alberta and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. A minimum of ten (10) years’ legal practice (including articling year) with a privacy focus. Demonstrated excellence as a practicing lawyer in privacy matters with excellent legal and analytic skills. Motivated to learn, independent, energetic. Adaptable and flexible. Superior communication skills. Strong research and drafting competencies.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Position may be performed in Edmonton or Calgary. Due to the professional nature of this position, actual hours worked exceed those expected in a “regular” work week. Travel within Alberta may be required on an occasional basis.


Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in Alberta legislation including the Health Information Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Experience negotiating and drafting Data Sharing Agreements. Knowledge of cybersecurity risks facing large, complex organizations.
