Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Science (BSc MLS) or an accredited School of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is required including current registration with CMLTA. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems software including newborn screening software Specimen Gate and maternal screening software Astraia is required. Experience with excel and other data analysis software is essential. At least five years of current clinical laboratory experience is desired, and the ability to operate, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments is needed. In particular, experience with MS/MS, HPLC and GCMS are preferred. A background in enzymology is desirable. Ability to do advanced maintenance with minimal supervision is an asset. You are an organized, independent worker and a strong team player committed to providing quality patient care. You understand and maintain a working knowledge of analytical techniques and demonstrate excellent problem solving and decision making skills. You are a competent trainer and are skilled with writing standard operating procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

A relevant Master’s degree is an asset to complement a BSc MLS.
