Required Qualifications:

A graduate degree in Health, Business, Policy or Social Sciences or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in applied research, evaluation, performance measures and analytics in health and in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Knowledge of addiction and mental health and the broader health system; understanding of the patient population served. Practical experience in project management, literature reviews and e-scan, and knowledge translation/exchange. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other team members and leaders from other areas of expertise across the province. Effective communication and organization/coordination skills. Experience managing human resources and related financial information. Significant experience in problem solving, risk mitigation, concerns resolution, conflict resolution and negotiation. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with leading a team, making decisions, coaching and teaching, and inspiring and building confidence in others.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The incumbent requires knowledge of and competency with: Service planning and models of care. Project management, implementation, evaluation and applied research. Proficiency in writing/creating presentation material is essential. Several years of experience in relational databases and specialized software applications such as SPSS, Crystal Reports, SQL Server and Access. Expertise in data analysis and presentation software such as Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau are required. Extensive computer experience and demonstrated strong aptitude for technology. Well-rounded statistical knowledge is required. Interdisciplinary, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Health, Business, Policy or Social Sciences. Experience in strategic and operational planning and a detailed knowledge of Alberta’s Addiction and Mental Health services is an asset. Experience in policy analysis as well as in analyzing large healthcare datasets is preferred. Familiarity with health records classification techniques (e.g., ICD-10; DSM-IV) is an asset.
