Required Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate in an approved health related program in a regulated profession (e.g. Social Work, LPN). Registration (including provisional registration) in good standing with applicable college or eligible for registration in respective professional body.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Recognized by the Indigenous community as having accrued traditional rights to facilitate ceremonial, spiritual and/or teachings. Training and guidance in the use of traditional Indigenous approaches to wellbeing; Previous experience in a health care setting or in a human services field. Advanced experience/knowledge of Indigenous healing methods, culture and traditions. Knowledge and respect for the diversity of Indigenous populations and communities. Knowledge of Indigenous history, worldview, perspectives, beliefs/values. Ability to facilitate traditional Indigenous protocol, traditional medicines, and Aboriginal Healing methods. Must possess and demonstrate outstanding professional and personal ethics, compassion, empathy and respect for vulnerable and diverse clientele. Ability to work independently and as part of a health care team. Critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Commitment to life-long learning. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others. Demonstrates good written skills and use of relevant computer software.


Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to speak a First Nations and/or Metis language is preferred. Ability to translate Indigenous Ways of Knowing is preferred.
