Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Master’s or research based degree in a health promotion or population health related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered). The incumbent will have experience engaging and working with First Nation, Metis and Inuit people, communities and leaders.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years direct experience working with First Nation, Metis and/or Inuit people & communities. Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a large health-focused organization in evaluation, knowledge translation, and/or data management. Solid understanding of research, and health innovation environments. Experience managing a project grant from start to finish. Ability to manage a number of projects concurrently and to successfully manage competing issues and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to foster and sustain relationships and partnerships and a culture of collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders particularly in the Indigenous community. Extensive knowledge of the health system. Demonstrated working knowledge of cancer and chronic disease prevention, population and public health, health equity, quality improvement, applied research methods, systematic reviews and critical appraisal skills. Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Knowledge and experience in logical frame/logic model development. Experience managing physical and human resources and related financial / statistical information. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Change Management.
