Required Qualifications:

An academic background in Interior Design with 2 to 5 years industry experience is essential. A mixture of other applicable education and experience may be considered. The incumbent needs to be comfortable working with clinical & non-clinical staff, senior management, physicians, vendors, external consultants, architects and AHS executive, Government of Alberta Ministries and others as required. The HFP must have a solid understanding of Furnishings applicable to clinical practice and patient care within a healthcare environment. Ability to read and interpret design drawings and engineering specifications as well as contract documents is essential. Some degree of knowledge related to infection control practice guidelines would also be helpful.


Additional Required Qualifications:

A strong positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a desire to lead by example are essential to success in this position. This position is required to travel to healthcare projects throughout the province. Safety training is required to access construction sites, as well as approved personal protective equipment (PPE).


Preferred Qualifications:

Project management background/PMP designation an asset. A high degree of proficiency in CAD is required and knowledge of Revit would be preferred. Strong computing, communication and writing skills, a background in project management as well as experience with planning databases preferred. Knowledge and understanding of design and construction practices is required. A good understanding of the Alberta building code and how it relates to health care facilities would be an added benefit.
