Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of five years’ experience in an addiction prevention or relevant health promotion/public health position with direct experience in community development with community-based agencies and groups. Comprehensive knowledge and experience related to preventing and reducing the harms associated with substance use through upstream approaches that prioritize community development. Advanced written and oral communication experience for a wide range of audiences. Experience developing materials and training for multiple audiences, including identifying best format and/or technology to convey messaging/health information to target groups. Practical experience contributing to and facilitating consensus building, facilitating change and navigating complex priorities. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to conduct literature reviews and environmental scans. Experience developing and fostering positive, strategic and collaborative relationships with internal and external partners across multiple jurisdictions. Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently as a motivated self-starter with a high degree of resourcefulness and independent judgment, as well as within a multidisciplinary team. A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within an emerging adult and/or post-secondary campus environment. Prevention and health promotion delivery focused on alcohol, cannabis in various settings (workplace, social media and web-based, post-secondary). Understanding of the AHS prevention and treatment services related to substance use. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize work load and meet deadlines. Demonstrated history of navigating competing priorities and complex partnerships.
