Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Sciences, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience working with communities or in a public health setting. Experience in the identification, development and/or implementation of health promotion/wellness programs, initiatives and strategies. Experience in utilizing computer and software on a day-to-day basis. Demonstrates skills in project planning, management and evaluation. Ability to work as part of a team with staff in the health promotion program and other programs within the area. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to function effectively within a dynamic work environment. Evidence of superior interpersonal and communication skills, community development program planning, advocacy, public relations and social marketing skills. Good understanding of health promotion and determinants of health, including theory, knowledge and practice. Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Evidence of sound professional judgment, self-assurance, flexibility, creativity and initiative. Constructive imagination and ingenuity in work related situations. Strong commitment to maintenance and improvement of the health of citizens of the region. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work related travel is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in health, adult education, education or a related discipline preferred. An understanding and interest in the population, lifestyle, priorities and stresses of northern communities preferred.
