Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

CHIM professional with minimum of 5 years experience working in HIM within a complex health care environment. Minimum 2 years experience in leadership role. Experience in preparing adult educational material. Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage change. Demonstrated ability to identify, mitigate and manage risk in compliance with provincial and federal legislation, AHS policy, and department procedures. Excellent working knowledge and experience using computer applications in a windows-based environment and MS office suite. English language skills in reading, writing and comprehension and effective oral and written communication required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Access and disclosure experience is preferred.
