Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

CHIM professional with minimum 1-3 years access and disclosure experience within a complex health care environment. Ability to provide a high level of customer service. Ability to analyze, problem solve and make discretionary decisions in compliance with provincial and federal legislation, AHS policy, and AHS Legal & Privacy. Technical aptitude for information systems, computer applications, and navigating between multiple electronic sources. Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a high volume, high paced and ever changing work environment. English language skills in reading, writing and comprehension and effective oral and written communication required. Must be self-motivated and independent. Incumbent is required to possess conflict management skills and be comfortable with a high level of decision making and critical thinking. Keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. A skill testing assessment and typing test will be administered.
