Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Health Information Management Professional (HIMP) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Familiarity with ICD-10-CA and CCI Folio product Proficiency with electronic abstracting and computer applications. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook). Thorough knowledge of current Canadian Coding Standards for ICD-10-CA/CCI, DAD/NACRS. Ability to work independently, prioritizes workload, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure and show good judgment. An excellent attendance record, reliability and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment record, interview and references.

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years recent experience in data collection. Experience with Meditech and 3M Encoder. Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
