Join us for an exciting opportunity supporting Addiction and Mental Health Services out of the Cochrane Addiction and Mental Health Centre/Cochrane Community Health Centre. This is an advanced clinical position providing assessment/diagnosis, treatment and follow up to a generalist addiction and mental health population and their families. This position provides clinical focused consultation with other programs or community resources and acts as a liaison to develop and promote preventative addiction and mental health programs in the community. The Family Counselor collaborates with other health care providers and community service providers to ensure a continuum of addiction and mental health care in the community. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in a health related field. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Three years of community addiction and mental health experience, operating as a primary therapist. A solid foundation of clinical work is required to support the complex skills of engagement, assessment of high-risk behaviors (ie suicide, addiction and abuse), provisional diagnosis of mental health presentation, clinical case planning and management, application of a wide variety of therapeutic models and modalities and clinical and program consultation. Experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, strength based, Solution Focused. Ability to provide generalist services to rural populations. Experience working as a supportive and active member of a clinical team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Group experience. Experience working in a rural setting. Awareness of community resources.
