Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent exercise science degree. Active membership with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, and Clinical Exercise Physiologist and/or American College of Sport Medicine, Exercise Specialist. Active or eligible for membership with the Alberta Kinesiology Association or Canadian Kinesiology Association as applicable.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: Evidence of leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire individuals towards change. Effective time management skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities. Ability to solve problems using sound judgment and critical decision making skills utilizing available resources and evidence based research. Effective conflict resolution skills. Ability to demonstrate initiative and innovation. Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment Self-directed, works independently within a collaborative team setting. Working knowledge of personal computer/desk top systems and software programs. Experience and knowledge related program evaluation. Creative, innovative, enthusiastic and respectful. Identify the significance of important abnormalities in the designation of the exercise prescription and in activity selection. Ability to respond to cardiac arrest, hypoglycemia, bronchospasm and sudden onset of hypotension and non-emergent events/injuries.
