Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Emergency Medical Responder or Primary Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as an Emergency Medical Responder. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six (6) demerits. Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months prior to the application date.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Heart and Stroke Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BCLS-HCP) certification (Level C). Candidates external to AHS EMS, or internal candidates who do not hold a clinical position are required to complete the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test via Lifemark. The F.A.R.E. test must be completed within 6 months of the date of your application. Other key competencies for this role include: Independently exercise sound judgment and critical thinking skills, consistent with provincial MCP’s, and organizational expectations, with minimal direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education. Additional Education relevant to the position. Leadership experience. Work experience as an EMR. Active enrollment in a Primary Care Paramedic program. Experience working in: Metro EMS, Suburban-Rural EMS or Intra-facility transport. Volunteer experience. Calgary Zone ride along or practicum experience. Current AHS employee working in a health care role. Successful completion of a Temporary-Full-time position where the vacancy resides.
