Description:

The Area 7 Director Clinical Operations works in close partnership within a physician dyad relationship to provide leadership within North Zone operations. The position reports to the Senior Operating Officer Clinical Operations, Rural East and Zone leadership for Allied and Seniors Health. This position works in partnership with the operational leadership team consisting of Managers in Acute Care, Allied Health and Seniors, along with the Community Medical Directors, for the communities of Athabasca, Boyle, Lac La Biche, Smoky Lake, Radway, Redwater, Thorhild and Vilna. This role provides an operations perspective in a shared decision-making relationship with the Community Medical Director and operational leadership that includes, but is not limited to: Leading the effective oversight of hospital and/or community based clinical programs, services and resource planning as necessary. Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans and policies which support the service delivery model and philosophy of the North Zone. Implementing service strategies congruent with Zone strategies by developing plans to reflect short and long term needs. Facilitating the work of others by providing tools (frameworks, examples, supports) to help facilitate the work and achieve the zone goals and meet priorities. Integrating Zone programs and services with sites and services within the Zone. Providing leadership in the effective management and stewardship of resources.

Required Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in a Health related or Business Administration field and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a management role related to the delivery of health services in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching with an ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, customer focused orientation and commitment to provide a quality service. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. An ability to manage resources in a complex environment. An ability to build and foster collaboration with stakeholders, caregivers, senior management and external agencies.
