Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of 1 consistent year of full-time post certification ultrasound experience. Current registration for abdomen, pelvis, OB, small parts and vascular. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. The ability to effectively communicate in English. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, and to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Demonstrated desire and actions to further own knowledge relating to profession. Demonstrated ability to use tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and physicians. Demonstrated ability in the areas of perception, initiative, judgement and concern for detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:5 years of Ultrasound experience in hospital setting. PACS and Meditech experience.
